The vice chancellor of Chrisland university, Abeokuta, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola led the management team of Chrisland University to Borstal Training Institute (a correctional facility for juvenile delinquent boys) in Abeokuta.

Prof Chinedum, whose passion is to give hope to the rejected in the society, during the courtesy visit discussed how Chrisland University can assist the institute. The VC pledged that the university will support the institute to achieve it aims and impact more on the society.

During her interaction with controller of prisons of the institute, Mrs A. Jemilehin, who first narrated the conditions of the students and later testified that many of them are now free from crime, drug addiction and other vices.

Mrs Jemilehin stated that many students from the institute have passed their WAEC and JAMB examinations while still residing in the facility. The inmates are trained on various vocations, such as tailoring, barbing, carpentry, cooking, environmental cleanliness, knitting among several others.

Babalola in her chat with CEOAFRICA reporter, expressed how interesting the visit was and also interacted with the students who gave testimonies on how they were been delivered from drug addiction and equally shared their future plans.
