The All Progressives Congress (APC) has adopted direct primary election to select its candidate for the presidential election in 2019.

This was part of the resolutions reached at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting which was held on Thursday at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The leading party, however, adopted indirect primaries for members contesting for other elective positions in the forthcoming elections.

It also asked states willing to hold direct primaries depending on their peculiarities to inform the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
