Members of the on-going National Conference holding in Abuja have been divided over the over the purported draft constitution, some members especially those from northern Nigeria had earlier rejected the draft constitution alleging that the draft constitution was the making of few delegates, hence did not represent the overall opinion and interest of the Conference.

However, the series of meetings the Confab chairman, Idris Kutigi held with zonal leaders on Wednesday came to the rescue as delegates agreed on a position on the controversial draft constitution.

The confab came to an end with a minor amendment to the third volume of the confab report by replacing the draft constitution to read “Resolutions of the conference as draft amendments to 1999 constitution.”

The motion for the amendments to the third volume was moved by Maina Waziri.

While Richard Akinjide moved the motion for the adoption of the confab report, ‎Yadomah Mandara seconded it.
