ABUJA – Thursday, 22 April 2021: Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has re-appointment Mr. Jelani Aliyu as the Director General/Chief Executive, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) for another term of four year.

His reappointment was conveyed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, dated April 2021.

Aliyu, the world renowned auto designer, was first appointment in April 2017, in recognition of his innovations in the automotive industry particularly his notable contribution at General Motors in the United States.

He was however re-appointed on the recommendation of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Niyi Adebayo, according to a statement issued Thursday by Assistant Director, NADDC, Mrs. Felicia Ireneoyebolu.

Among others things, Aliyu is currently at the forefront of making electric cars a reality in Nigeria.
