Osun declares Friday public holiday to mark new Islamic calendar

The Osun State Government has declared Friday, as a public holiday to commemorate the new Islamic year, Hijrah 1444 AH.
The state Commissioner for Special Duties, Olalekan Badmus disclosed this in a press release. He doubles as the Supervising Commissioner for the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Commissioner enjoined all Muslims in the state to pray for the continued peace and progress of the state under the leadership of Gboyega Oyetola.
Badmus urged residents to engage in spiritual soul searching in line with the essence of the occasion as exemplified by the virtues of the holy prophet of Allah, Muhammad, while on earth.
