The Kogi State House of Assembly, located at Crusher Area, Lokoja, has been gutted by fire.
The fire ripped through the roof of the Chamber, causing extensive damage to the floor of the house and the cause is unknown.
It was reported that the Assembly gallery was completely burnt.
The fire incident started at about 8 am on Monday.
The Speaker of the House, Prince Mathew Kolawole, who spoke with Newsmen at the Assembly complex said; “We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward.”
Kolawole, said this will not stop the Assembly from performing its duty as the resolution of the House concerning Dangote Cement Plc stands.
