An APC chieftain, Farouk Aliyu, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC), are in talks with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, to support the party in 2023 General election,
Aliyu disclosed this while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, on Monday evening.
He said: “We are talking to Wike. We are talking to so many of them. Of course, it is politics. So, we are not enemies of Wike, and he is a very important person in this country – a governor for that matter – and you cannot ignore Rivers State.
“So, if Wike decides to come to us, we would gladly welcome him, and I can confirm to you that we are talking to him.”
CEOAFRICA had reported that Wike and his camp had been at odds with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since the party’s Presidential primaries in May.
Aliyu noted that APC is ready to receive Wike as a new member ahead of the next general election.
Meanwhile, Wike, on Tuesday endorsed Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of  APC for a second term in office, a move that has further deepened the PDP crisis.
