The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has commenced the newly introduced Credit Advance Payment Metering Implementation (CAPMI) scheme with a promise to provide more efficient customer services.

CEOAFRICA news desk has gathered from the statement by Bolaji Oyesiku, Managing Director/CEO, IBEDC, at a press briefing in Ibadan on Thursday that the CAPMI was meant to make electricity users accountable and happy over billing mechanism.

The 13 CAPMI contractors engaged by IBEDC were allocated to the coverage areas of the entire Oyo, Ogun, Osun and Kwara states and parts of Niger, Ekiti and Kogi states at the briefing.

However, the MD/CEO of IBEDC said the new scheme was a creation of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), pointing out that the creation became necessary to address the “ugly trend” in the payment for meter.
