UNN Alumni set to hold 63rd Founder's Day

The University Of Nigeria, Nsukka Alumni association is set to hold its 63rd Founder's Day on the 5th and 6th of October 2023.

Guests Expected at the event include the Former Governor of Anambra State and Presidential Candidate of the the Labour Party at the March 2023 Presidential Election, H.E Peter Gregory Obi(CON)

Mr. Peter Obi will be speaking on the Topic; Accessing the Impact Of Alumni Association in the University Community: A Case Study of University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Other guests expected at the event include The Chairman of the Day ;Former Governor of Kano State ,H.E. Senator (Dr) Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau,The Vice Chancellor of The University of Agriculture, Umudike, Professor Maduebisi Ofo Iwe(CFS)(Guest Lecturer),Professor Charles Arizechukwu Igwe(Chief Host), among other dignitaries.

The Chairman of the Organising Committee, Engineer Michael Nwabueze (FCE,KSM), who spoke to CEOAFRICA said preparations are in top gear to ensure a hitch-free outing, as notable alumni are expected at the homecoming event. Distinguished Alumni from the University include, H.E Mr. Peter Obi, Dr. Obi Ezekwesili, a Former Vice President of The World Bank and Former Nigerian Minister, Multiple award-winning writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie among others.

Past Speakers at the founder's day event include; The Former governor of Ebonyi State,H.E, David Umahi (CON), and H.E, MR. Emmanuel Odom, former governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Part of activities lined up for the weeklong event is an Homecoming Celebration in honour of Professor Frank Ndili, the 7th Vice Chancellor of the University and Nigeria's first Nuclear Physicist.

The event is scheduled to hold at The Princess Alexandria Hall of The Institution on Friday 6th of October from 10 am.
