Monday 18th Oct.2021:The Organised Labour Community of the Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC) and the Trade Union Congress(TUC) Cross River State, has declared the Special Adviser to the state Governor on Labour matters, Mr Effiong Ita Umoh a ‘Persona Non Grata’ and misfit for the role also calling for his immediate sack.
They made this call through a bulletin signed today by the Union and made available to CEOAFRICA.
Condemning some of the recent wrong doings of Umoh,the statement read;
He led the team that went about cutting chains and locks used in security Government premises, as an acclaimed Labour veteran,he should have known that breaking chains cannot force Workers to their duty posts.
He was on air to display his ignorance, once again, that ‘Organised Labour’ , as an umbrella of labour centres and JNC is not known to the law; an umbrella he once operated under.
The statement further stated that Umoh claimed that Organised Labour did not declare Trade Dispute before embarking on Strike, stressing on if the Special Adviser had an idea of what ‘Ultimatum1,2,3 and 4 represents.
The Union also stated that it is very clear that Mr Effiong Ita Umoh lacks elementary knowledge of Labour Laws operating in the Country and called on the Labour Community at large to desist from inviting or honouring him in any Labour gatherings.
The Statement concluded with the Union urging all Comrades to continue to stay at home until the Union dims it fit to return
