Obafemi Awolowo University governing council, Ile-Ife has announced Adebayo Bamire, Professor of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture of the University as the new Vice-Chancellor.

Owelle Udoji, the Chairman of the Council, made the announcement on Thursday, said that Professor Bamire defeated 19 other applicants to emerge the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the university.
